Un gran aficionado a Pink Floyd ha creado minuciosamente una versión coloreada de la interpretación de la banda de ‘Apples and Oranges’ en American Bandstand hace 55 años.
El 7 de noviembre de 1967, solo dos días después de llegar al país para su gira inaugural, Pink Floyd hizo su debut en la televisión estadounidense en el exitoso programa American Bandstand para una interpretación de su último sencillo independiente ‘Apples and Oranges’.
Presentado y entrevistado por el legendario Dick Clark, Pink Floyd imitaba a medias la canción de amor con Syd Barrett rasgueando la guitarra con desgana y cantando apenas.
Anteriormente solo estaba disponible para ver imágenes en blanco y negro de baja calidad, un YouTuber con sede en Suecia que se hace llamar Artista en la frontera ahora ha presentado una versión coloreada casi onírica de la actuación.
Habiendo presentado una restauración HD en blanco y negro en noviembre, la versión coloreada se subió recientemente al canal de YouTube de Artist on the Border.
Utilizando tecnología de inteligencia artificial, Artist on the Border comenzó a trabajar en la versión en color en febrero de 2021 y la terminó 10 meses después, poco antes del Año Nuevo.
Artist on the Border escribió: «Cada cuadro de los 3350 cuadros requeridos (interpretación musical) tuvo que cargarse individualmente, descargarse nuevamente y nombrarse individualmente… No voy a hacer esto de nuevo, así».
Gilmour le dijo a la revista Guitar Player que Pink Floyd ha «seguido su curso» y que no quiere volver a realizar conciertos en estadios con Roger Waters y Nick Mason.
